Barnes & Noble announces the Nook Tablet
As was to be expected, Barnes & Noble have just announced the Nook Tablet, wich will be available on November the 18th. You can order it now and it’ll cost $249. Older models, the Nook Color have been reduced to $199 and Nook SimpleTouch to $99.
Now, the Nook Tablet will naturally compete with Amazon’s Kindle Fire, albeit Fire being a bit cheaper. As announced, B&N’s Tablet’s gonna rock a 1.0 GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor, 1GB of RAM, 16 GB for storage and there’s also a microSD card slot.
The display is a 7 inch VividView with 1024×600 resolution, and it has a full IPS lamination to reduce reflection and glare to offer better outdoor readability.
It runs Android Gingerbread and weighs only 400 grams(14.1 ounces). Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora and more apps will be preloaded on it.
