Philips is getting ready to launch their own Android tablets. Interesting enough, Philips is not going for the ARM type chipsets, as usually the case, instead they’re adopting MIPS processors

Android has support for the MIPS type chips, but it’s not perfected as much as the support for the ARM, but Google has promised to direct more focus on the MIPS architecture, too.

So, for the moment, there’s two tablets on the table, both have 7 inch displays, one with 1024×600 and the other one with 800×480 pixels, both have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and are said to be playing lots of different media/video types, including H.265, MP4 and WMV.

No release info, except it’s only certain to arrive in China very soon.
